Alice Faye (Sterling) Snyder, 88, of Kingwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Harmony at Morgantown. She was born on September 9, 1936, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late Kenneth Oliver and Freda Gale (Calvert) Sterling.
A devoted member of the Baptist faith, Alice attended Albright Baptist Church, where she was an active and loving participant. She served as Treasurer, taught Sunday school, and shared her love of God and community as a Vacation Bible School teacher.
Alice leaves behind her two sons, Dan Snyder and wife, Betsy, of Elkview, and Ken Snyder and wife, Diana, of Morgantown; two daughters, Robin Ramsey and husband, Gene, of Murrysville, PA, and Cathy Robinson and husband, Tommy, of Kingwood; one brother, Larry Sterling and wife, Carolyn, of Terra Alta; one sister, Linda Titchenell and husband, Darwin, of Valley Point; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom was blessed by her warmth, guidance, and love.
Alice was a woman of many talents and a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in canning, crocheting, sewing, and tending to her garden. Her creativity and dedication to these pursuits were a testament to her nurturing nature and the love she poured into her family.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Allison Snyder, who passed away in 2018.
The family will receive friends at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street in Kingwood, WV, on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The following day, Saturday, February 1, 2025, visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM hour of service at the Albright Baptist Church, 2672 N Preston Hwy, Albright, WV. The service will be officiated by Reverend Joe Lamm. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
