Alicia “Lisa” Faye Smith, 62, of Reedsville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital. Lisa was born on January 6, 1963, in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Enoch Johnson and Velma Elizabeth (Scott) Johnson.
She was known as a giving person, and, even in death, her giving continues. Alicia's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through donation of her organs and tissue, along with the gift of sight with her corneas.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Allen Smith; two children, Jackie Lee (Christopher) May and Derek “DJ” Smith; one beloved grandson, Benjamin Alexander May; three siblings, Robert (Sandy) Johnson, Angela (James) Knotts, and Patricia (Shawn) Auvil; and one brother-in-law, David Scroggs.
She devoted much of her life to lovingly caring for her son DJ and took immense pride in her role as a mother and, more recently, a grandmother. Lisa had a creative and hardworking spirit. She loved building and fixing things, cooking for those she loved, and spending quiet time working on puzzles. She also enjoyed tending her garden, especially her sunflowers, and could often be found listening to music and dancing, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and light.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Glenda Scroggs, her grandparents, and fourteen cherished aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Charles May officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
