Beatrice Marie (Bolyard) Bever

Beatrice Marie (Bolyard) Bever, age 93, of Rowlesburg, passed away peacefully July 12, 2023, with her loving family at her side. She was born June 21, 1930, in Fellowsville, WV, a daughter of the late Russell Harold Bolyard and Grace Gertrute (Wolfe) Bolyard Knotts. Her husband of 36 years,Robert Ray Bever, preceded her in death.

Beatrice was a nurse’s aide having worked at Preston Memorial Hospital for 14 years, and Hopemont for 12 years. She then worked as a senior caretaker through her 80’s.  She was a founding member of the Rowlesburg Southern Baptist Church, and a member of the Rowlesburg Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzles. She was an accomplished gardener, loved raising flowers, bird watching and feeding the birds.

Surviving are: her son, Roger Bever and wife Aneta, of Vale, NC, three daughters, Rosemary Bever Goff, of Kingwood, Roberta “Pearl” Knotts, of Rowlesburg, and Betty Blaney and husband Rick of Terra Alta; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; one brother, Elwood Bolyard and wife Louise, of OH; one sister Nancy Goss, of Arthurdale; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Harold, Ronald, and Lonnie Bolyard; two sisters, Irene Long and Mary Alice Stewart; and two siblings in infancy.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 11 am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Etam Cemetery.
