Bernice Catherine (Kelley) Mankins

Bernice C. (Kelley) Mankins, 79, of Tunnelton, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Mon General Hospital. She was born March 29, 1944 in Tunnelton, WV to the late Viola L. (Beckman) and Clarence S. Kelley.

Bernice was a 1962 graduate of Tunnelton High School. She was retired having worked as a sales associate at the former Ames Dept. Store. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2391 Kingwood.

Bernice is survived by her partner of several years Steven Harrison, of Kingwood, WV; two grandsons, William “Fox” Mankins and partner Nicole, of Tunnelton, and Christopher “Scott” Mankins and wife Alexis Mankins, of Kingwood; two great grandchildren, Sage Dawn and River Scott Mankins; one brother, Harlen (Linda) Kelley; two sisters, Christine (Lloyd) Williams, and Dorothy (Willard) Williams; many of nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Claude L. Mankins, Jr.; two sons, William “Bill” Edward Mankins, and Gregory “Scott” Mankins; five sisters, Florence (Charlie) Patterson, Edith I. Kelley, Merle (Robert) Emery, Pearl (Albert) Paschke, Ethel (Herbert) Moore; two brothers Glenn Kelley, and Gerald (Sharon) Kelley, and several brother in laws and sister in laws.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 4pm-8pm and on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 9am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am with Pastor Dave Biggins officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery.
