Betty Ann (Miller) Cooper

Betty Ann (Miller) Cooper, 78, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born on April 17, 1947, in Howesville, WV, a daughter of the late Vernon Curtis Miller and Claris Helena (Britton) Miller.

Betty was well known in the community for running several local businesses alongside her husband, Jimmy. She loved karaoke, shooting pool, and had a spirited personality that made her unforgettable. She will be remembered as a sassy, fun-loving woman who brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cooper; her son, Charles Cozart Jr. and his wife Stacey of Rockton, IL; her daughter, Lisa Cale of Newburg, WV; grandchildren Madison, Charlie, Ross, Levi, and Naomi of Rockton, IL, and Colby and Autumn of Reedsville, WV.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Lee Cozart; three brothers, Charles, Joe, and Thomas Miller; her sister, Shirley Thompson; and her grandson, Christopher Cale.

A graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery, located at 42 Veterans Memorial Lane, Grafton, WV 26354, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Peggy Cole officiating.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
