Bruce Dale Pyles

Bruce Dale Pyles, 64, of Tunnelton, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home. Bruce was born on December 17, 1961, in Grafton, WV, a son of the late Floyd Truman Pyles and Mary Patricia (Maxwell) Pyles.

Bruce proudly served as the Supervisor for the City of Kingwood, where he took great pride in caring for his community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. Bruce was known as someone who would do anything for anyone. He was a hard worker with a big heart, and he thought the world of his grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Billie Jo (Sphar) Pyles; two sons, Tim Sphar and his wife Ashley, of Reedsville, and Robbie Riley and his wife Valerie, of Tunnelton; two grandchildren, Haley Sphar and Tyler Sphar, both of Reedsville; one brother, Ronnie Lee Pyles; and three sisters, Janet Shahan, Janice Deactor and husband Joe, and Kathy Chidester and husband Duane.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by three brothers, James Dale Pyles, Glenn Junior Pyles, and Ricky Allen Pyles; and his maternal grandparents, Ashford and Pearl Maxwell.
