Burga "Bea" (Ash) Sell

Burga “Bea” (Ash) Sell, 90, of Lennox, WV, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Kingwood Healthcare Center. Bea was born in Albright on November 18, 1935, daughter of the late Carl and Belva (Martin) Ash.

Before her retirement, Bea had worked thirty years for Western Electric and at the Kingwood Senior Center. She did not pass up a senior trip and won many medals at the Senior Olympics. Bea enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, even competing with her son, Michael, to see who could complete them first. She was never one to turn down pizza, as long as it came with a cold beer. Bea also liked to shop, play duckpin bowling, and she was a member of the Albright Methodist Church and the Red Hats. Her lively spirit, straightforward personality, and warmth will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Bea is survived by two sons, Michael Sell, Jimmy Sell, both of Albright; one daughter, Terrie Uphold, of Masontown; two grandchildren, Zachary Sell, Rhonda Bucklew; five great grandchildren, Samantha Bucklew, Hunter Bucklew, Wynter Uphold, Memphis Sell, Maverick Sell; and two great great grandchildren, Kiki Bucklew, Finley Bucklew.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer “Scrubby” Sell; grandson, Corey Uphold; brother, Boyd Ash; sister, Rettabella Neeley; and her son in law, Jackie Uphold.

The family would like to give special thanks to Kathy Young from the Senior Citizens, and to her caregiver, Jackie Elliot.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 2pm to 7pm. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
