Carolyn Jean (Hall) Smouse

Carolyn Jean (Hall) Smouse, 73 of Newburg, WV passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2024 at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1949 in Widen, WV, a daughter of the late Bud Hall and  Radie (Carte) Hall.

Carolyn was a Certified Nursing Assistant and formerly worked at Heartland of Kingwood. She enjoyed puzzles, canning, watching game shows, soap operas, and she was a really good cook.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ronald “Bucky” Eugene Smouse; one son, James Potts, of Ohio; three sisters, Della Butcher, of Widen, WV, Carol Woods, of Duck, WV, Kathleen Rose, Strange Creek, WV; two brothers Erman Hall, and Ernie Hall, both of Dille, WV; two sisters in law, Jennifer Smouse, of Independence, WV, Angie Huffman, of Kingwood, WV; and several nieces/nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceeded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Potts; and two brothers, Ervie Hall, and Ernest Hall.

Family and friends will be received at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 10am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 12pm, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Matlick officiating.
