Charles Clinton Metheny

Charles “Clinton” Metheny, 74, of Albright, WV, passed on to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Kingwood, WV. He was born on December 9, 1951, in Sewickley, PA, a son of the late Charles Jacob Metheny and Wilma Maxine (Burge) Metheny.

Clinton was a graduate of Kingwood High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later went on to work in excavation for Anderson Excavating. A man of faith, Clinton faithfully attended both Albright Riverside Church and Albright Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting deer, fishing, and tending to his garden. Above all else, Clinton cherished his family, and the time he shared with those he loved meant more to him than anything.

Clinton is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Donna Jean (Rodeheaver) Metheny; his daughter, Cara Metheny of Albright; his sister, Linda Weaver of Tunnelton; and his grand-dog, Qais. He is also survived by special  nieces and nephews, Jay Martin of Albright; Amy Martin White and Jerry of Morgantown; Todd Rodeheaver and Karen: Paige Clay and Keith; Rich Weaver and Fay, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his son, Charles Darrell Metheny, as well as an infant son; one nephew, Heath Rodeheaver. 

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV. An additional hour of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service, officiated by Reverend Joe Lamm. Interment will follow at Sugar Valley Cemetery in Bruceton Mills, WV, with full military honors conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard.
