Daniel “Danny” Ray Newlon, 43, of Tunnelton, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was born on December 18, 1980 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late James ‘David” Metz and Janice Ann (Newlon) Moats.
Danny loved to play pool, horseshoes, fishing, and riding four wheelers, but most of all, his favorite time was spent with his children. He was a self-employed handyman for many years, and a member of the Grace House Church.
Danny is survived by two sons, Cameron Newlon and Elizabeth Loughry, of Kingwood, and Brycin Newlon, of Kingwood; six siblings, James Metz “JD” and Jessica, Tunnelton, Christopher Metz, of California, Marie Williams and Clarence, of Chambersburg, PA, Selina Zinn and Timothy, of Elizabeth, PA, Samantha Collins, of Ohio, Missy Moats, of Kingwood; one cousin who was like a brother to him, Scott Newlon and wife Laurie; one aunt who was like a second mom, Mary Newlon, of Kingwood; nineteen nieces and nephews, Alexis, Brayden, Emily, Abigail, Cole, Hope Newlon, Roman Newlon, Syera and Hannah Zinn, Dusty, Cody, Morgin, Shayla, Maddie Swope, Russell Metz, Ethan, Tara, Talea Newlon, Adalycia Davis
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Newlon; siblings, Marcella “Marcy” Rogers and Harvey Albright; one cousin Dana “Niki” Davis; several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you Dave Biggins, you have been a special friend and mentor to Danny. Your compassion and kindness did not go unnoticed and will never be forgotten.
The family would like to encourage any reading this that is struggling with their own addictions to reach out to Dave Biggins and Anthony Favro. Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 3-5 pm, with service to follow at 5 pm, at the funeral home, with Dave Biggins officiating.
