Darvin Gay Titchenell, 88, of Albright, WV, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at WV Caring in Elkins, WV. Born on August 29, 1936, in Albright, WV, he was the son of the late Joel F. Titchenell and Molly Blanche (Ringer) Titchenell.
Darvin was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served honorably in Vietnam. After his service, he worked in the coal mines, then later went on to become a timberman for Sprool, dedicating many years to the profession. A true outdoorsman, Darvin had a deep love for hunting, fishing, and enjoying the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Loretha D. (Spencer) Titchenell. He leaves behind two sons, Kenny Titchenell (Teresa) of Hazelton, WV, and Darvin Titchenell of Ben Bush, WV; two daughters, Deanna Hoover (Richie) of Friendsville, MD, and Cathy Jo Wagner (John) of Albright, WV; one brother, Donald Titchenell (Madeline) of Kingwood; and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Darvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Titchenell; his son, Michael Allan Titchenell; five brothers, Robert, Playford, Buster, Amos, and Jasper Titchenell; and four sisters, Helen Bennett, Gladys Hall, Susan Masters, and Joetta Trembly.
Darvin will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his service to his country, and his enduring passion for the outdoors. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, WV, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 10am until the 12pm funeral hour, with Reverend Ray Frankhouser officiating. Internment will follow at Steele Cemetery, Friendsville, MD.
