David Lee Emerson

David Lee Emerson, 86, of Kingwood, WV, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his home.

David was born on January 7, 1936, in Masontown, WV. He was the son of the late Frank John William Emerson and Thelma Merle (Boring) Emerson.

David was a US Army veteran. He retired from Humphrey mine #7 in Morgantown, WV having worked at the tipple. He enjoyed working on small motors and tractors. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, district 31 local 1038 in Fairmont, WV.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Katheline Viola (Liston) Emerson; his son and wife, William and Rebecca Emerson. of Tunnelton; his daughter and husband, Karen and Paul Chroussis, of Terra Alta, WV; two grandchildren, Beau and Katie Emerson, of Oakland, MD, and Hallie Emerson of Tunnelton; two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Hank Emerson of Oakland, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Monica and Sara Chroussis; and his sister, Dolly Wolfe.

Friends are invited to share their memories of David with his family during visitation at Kingwood Funeral Home, located at 295 S. Price Street, on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 10:00am-2:00pm the time of the service, with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will be held at a later date, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Kingwood.
