David Curtis Fischer, 78, formerly of Aurora, WV, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Janet’s Heavenly Home in Tunnelton, WV. David was born on May 5, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, son of the late Harry Louis Fischer and Elizabeth Jane (Fleming) Fischer.
David attended Modesto Jr. College and the University of California-Davis. He earned a degree in civil engineering and he was employed by the state of California. David started a men’s country gospel trio named The Fishermen, and was the choir director at Clairmont Baptist Church, San Diego, CA.
David is survived by his wife; Suzanne Marie (Retz) Fischer, of Tunnelton; two sons, Shawn Fischer (Lisa), of Gaston, OR, Jeremy Fischer (Lynn), of Long Beach, CA; a daughter, Jess Fischer, of Arlington, VA; one brother, Richard Fischer (Pam), Aromas, CA; seven grandchildren, Kris Fischer(Megan), Josh Fischer, Kaela Fischer, Jacob Fischer, Candyce Monteleone (Anthony), Kaytlin Kimball and husband Peter, Bo Menster; five great grandchildren, Jackson Fischer, Amelia Fischer, Woodryn Monteleone, Delaney Monteleone, and Sasha Kimble.
