David Ray "Gears" Kyle

David Ray “Gears” Kyle, 57, of Kingwood, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 due to an automobile accident. He was born July 27, 1966 in Hampton, VA, a son of David Eugene and Ila “Grace” (Barker) Kyle. His life partner, Michele Lee “Chele” (Pearsal) DeWitt, also passed as a result of the automobile accident.

Dave was a 35 yr. employee of Pratt & Whitney, Bridgeport, WV, where he was an Aircraft Engine Technician.  He was a 1984 graduate of Sistersville High School, and a US Air Force Veteran. Dave loved motorcycles and riding his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed life, his love for motorcycles and adventure led him to meet many people who would later become family. Dave didn’t know a stranger, and it didn’t take people long to know they could trust him with their life. Dave and Chele could rarely be found at home, they lived life to it’s fullest.

In addition to his parents he is survived by: one brother Thomas Kyle and Sabrina; one sister, Jennifer Seckman and Donald; four nieces, Lauren Farley and Steve, Lacey Seckman and Jacob Short, Angelica Kyle, Jasmine Kyle and Chase; step nephews, TC and Jonathan Hunter, and grand step nephew, Ivan Hunter.

A celebration of life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2391 of Preston County, and will be announced at a later date.
