Dortha "Dottie" Margaret (Demick) Everly

Dortha “Dottie” Margaret (Demick) Everly, 82, of Kingwood, WV, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Kingwood. She was the daughter of the late Adolph Leo Demick and Gladys Amanda (Miller) Demick.

Dottie was a graduate of Kingwood High School in 1960. She was a homemaker, loved cooking, quilting and seamstress work, and even made clothes for her family. She was a member of the Pleasantdale Homemakers Club and the Kingwood Baptist Church, where she was the brewer of the sweet tea for Bible study. Dottie loved her church, family, neighbors, her golden retrievers, her cats, and her mutts.

Dottie is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Donald Eugene Everly; one son, Michael Carl Everly and wife Kimberly, of Sarver, PA; one daughter, Donna Jean Weaver and husband Rick, of Ocean City, MD; four grandchildren: Crystal Mullenax (Blaine), Matthew Everly (Lydia), Jennifer Leikam (Chris), Beverly Wilson (Caleb); and ten very loved great-grandchildren.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Demick; and one sister, Katherine Mason.

Friends and family may call at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5pm-8pm, and Wednesday, at Kingwood Baptist from 12 noon to the time of service. The funeral service will be held at the Kingwood Baptist Church, 201 Jackson Street, Kingwood, WV, 26537, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Charles Warger officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Kingwood.
