Elwood “Butch” Kermit Born, 74, of Kingwood, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, in Morgantown, WV. He was born in Morgantown, December 18, 1948, a son of the late Glenn Kermit Born and Mattie Maxine Shuman. His wife Betty Lou (Dalton) Born survives.
Butch worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Army.
In addition to his wife he is survived by: one daughter, Lisa Born, of Kingwood; one sister, Carol Giuliani and husband Hugh; a nephew, Jeff Anthony Giuliani and wife Deana; three nieces, Pamela Sue Giuliani, Daphne Lynn Giuliani, and Carmen Lee Pride and husband Jeff.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kermit Born.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 12noon until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm, at the funeral home with Reverend David D. Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the honor details of the VFWs and Vietnam Veterans of Preston County and the US Army Honor Guard.
