Ernest Ray Sargent, Sr. 64, of Kingwood died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Mon General Hospital with loving family by his side.
He was born November 2, 1955 in Anawalt, WV a son of the late William Claude Sargent, Sr. and Donna Jean Dean.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Ernest was a timber cutter and truck driver and worked for WV Department of Highways.
He loved fishing, hunting and cooking; enjoyed watching the Steelers and WV football games and played softball at Birds Creek and BoPark back in the day.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Wilma Lee Thomas Sargent; three sons, Ernest Sargent, Jr and wife, Daffaney of Kingwood, Jimmy Sargent and wife, Traci of Albright and William Sargent of Morgantown; two brothers, William Sargent and wife, Lynn of Wadestown and James Sargent and wife, Chrissy of Cleveland OH; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Judy Newsome and his father in-law Marvin Ray Thomas.
Family will receive friends at Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Tuesday, November 26, from, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 services will be held at 11am with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt Moriah Cemetery.
