Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Frances Estelle (Bory) Hardesty, born on May 6, 1946 in Baltimore City, Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her beloved homestead in Terra Alta, West Virginia, on March 17, 2026 at the age of 79. Fran’s sassiness, laughter, and bold love filled our lives with joy. In her later years, she was happiest taking long rides with the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Samuel, chatting with friends at local gatherings, and keeping long distance friendships alive over the telephone.
She leaves behind her children, Dana Luke de Rojas (Rodolfo), Linda Thompson (Barry) and Samuel Hardesty, Jr. (Diane), granddaughters Brittany and Priscilla, extended family, and many close friends.
We are grateful for her humor, the lessons she taught us and the fun times we shared while making everlasting memories.
Per her wishes, Frances will be cremated privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Amedisys Hospice Care of Morgantown, West Virginia. Condolences may be sent to the Hardesty family at www.kingwoodfuneralhomewv.com. Kingwood Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hardesty family.
