Fred Ray Funk, Sr.

Fred Ray Funk, Sr., 81, of Kingwood, WV, died Sunday, December 11, 2022, at his home in Kingwood.

Fred was born on April 6, 1941, in Terra Alta (Amboy Community), WV and was the son of the late Ervin Coy and Anna Pearl (Beatty) Funk.

Fred retired from Greer Limestone after several years of service. He loved to watch westerns, like to get a new truck every year, and enjoyed hunting and gardening. 

He is survived by three sons and spouses, Fred Ray Funk Jr. and Jenny Funk of, VA, Robert Ervin and Melissa Funk of, SC, and Larry Allen and Nancy Funk of, SC; two daughters and spouses, Deborah Sue and Greg Lanham of, SC, Sharon Melissa and Robin Griffith of, SC; a brother, Dale David Funk of Terra Alta; a sister, Hazel Dephine McNemar of Maryland; his companion Carolyn White and her children of Kingwood; his ex-wife, Donna Louise (McCray) Wardlaw of, SC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David Eugene Funk; four brothers, Ernie Coy Funk, Raymond Lee Funk, Printiss Bradley Funk, Kenneth Paul Funk; four sisters, Alfreda Aleta Nice, Myrtle Aldean Shaffer Wagnor, Sarah Faye Hixenbaugh, and Inez Virginia Funk.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date.

Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the cremation service.
