Frederick Koch Jr Obituary

Frederick Joseph Koch, Jr., 92 passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at Kingwood Healthcare Center. He reunited with his lovely bride, Carolyn Ann Greaser, on what would have been their 72nd wedding anniversary. Fred was born June 2, 1933, in the living quarters of the Kingwood Baking Company in Kingwood, WV, to the loving parents Frederick J. Koch, Sr. and Rosella V. Hinebaugh Koch. Fred and Kate were married on October 3, 1953.
Fred enlisted in the US Army on May 11, 1953, and served in Korea for two years and was discharged on April 29, 1955.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn "Kate" Koch, parents-Frederick and Rosella Hinebaugh Koch, sister, Cindy Koch Fields, in laws-Joseph Bernard and Margaret Bickford Greaser, Son in Law-Charles Richard Goff, Grandson-Bryson Frederick Koch, BILs-Thomas and Robert Greaser.
Fred, Jr., worked with his father, Fred, Sr., at Koch's Esso Servicenter, was the owner of Koch's Motor Sales and then was manager of Penmarva Grocers until his retirement.
Fred is survived by his children, Candace (Sam) Liston, Freddie (Jane) Koch, Steve (Vicki) Koch, Kelly (Richard) Mitchell; grandchildren Brooks (Cyndi) Liston, Courtney (Scott) Kirby, Katelyn (Jeremy) Preston, Ross Koch, Heather (Ryan) Robba, Mitchell (Kay) Koch, Colton Goff, Madison Goff (Rob Thompson); Great grandchildren, Abby (Logan) Conley, Lacey (Jacob) Oates, Beau (Haley) Liston, Caroline Kirby, Kendall Kirby (Ricky Lane), Mia & Amelia Preston, Roane & Lainey Robba, Calvin Goff, Brooks Koch; BIL-Rick Fields, SILs-Barbara "Boots" Greaser & Patricia Greaser.
Fred loved attending church, KHS Alumni Association, having coffee with his coffee group, watching his grand(children) play ball, watching the Pirates and Steelers and listening to the oldies on the radio. He loved to be the giver or the recipient of a good joke, like when Sonny Peddicord took Fred's running car outside of Save-A-Lot and parked it in Fred's own garage without Fred's knowledge.
