George Allen Carpenter

George Allen Carpenter, 87, of Rowlesburg passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at his residence. George was born in Fairmont, WV, on May 17, 1936, a son of the late Harry Carpenter and Mary (Fletcher) Carpenter. He served in the US Army. George worked at the Owens-Illinois factory in Fairmont and was an avid Mountaineer and Steelers fan.

George is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Susie” (Sanders) Carpenter; three nephews, Rob Carpenter, Allen Carpenter, both of Fairmont, and Butch Carpenter of California; a niece, Linda Carpenter of Fairmont.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Denzel Carpenter, and a nephew, Clinton Bradley Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held at the Southern Baptist Church, in Rowlesburg, on Sunday, October 15th, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Donahue officiating..
