George Edward Moats, Sr.

George Edward Moats, Sr. age 76, of Masontown, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Madison Center, Morgantown.  He was born in Erwin, WV, September 13, 1946, a son of the late Harvey and Gladys Moats. 

Mr. Moats was formerly employed at Kingsford charcoal plant in Parsons, WV. He is survived by his son, George “Jr.” Moats, Jr. and wife Tonya, of Rowlesburg, his wife, Betty Lou Moats, of Bretz, a granddaughter, Jasmine Nicole Moats, of Junior, one brother, Harold Moats, of Tunnelton, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Virginia Moats, four brothers, Leonard, Earl “Titus”, June, and Ernest Moats, and three sisters, Hazel Moats, Gertrude Collins, and Rosie Moats.

In honor of his wishes Mr. Moats will be cremated.
