George “Jack” Ralph Keim Jr., 81, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home. Jack was born on September 20, 1944, in Morgantown, son of the late George Ralph Keim Sr. and Wilma Virginia (Smith) Baritell.
Jack was a 1962 graduate of Terra Alta High School. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jack was an auto parts sales representative for many years before working as a sales associate at Lowes in Oakland, MD. He was a lay minister for the Aurora Charge, Amboy Methodist Church, and Bethel Texas Church. Jack was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan, Preston High School and East Preston basketball and football announcer, Dolphin football coach, bracketology guru, and he loved to golf. He was also the former President of the Preston County Board of Education. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his community that he cherished.
Jack is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Sally Ann (Ours) Keim; two daughters, Jackie Burja, of Hampstead, MD, Jodi Maiers and Scott, of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Jenna Burja (Kenny Bates), Alexandria Burja (Bryce Cole), Jordan Selders, Garrett Maiers, Kailee Selders, Taylor Maiers, Madison Hallenbeck, Zachary Hallenbeck (Taylor); five great grandchildren, Kylan, Adalyn, Gracelyn, Braelyn, Gabriella; two brothers, Johnny Keim, of Terra Alta, Gary Keim (Marsha), of VA; one sister, Penny Verity, of Memphis, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Terra Alta Funeral Home, 1112 W. State Ave., on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 3pm – 7pm and on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10am to the 11am funeral hour, with Reverend Mike Lantz officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard and the US Air Force Honor Detail at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be sent to the Dolphin football program: Terra Alta Youth Football League 306A Sanders St., Terra Alta, WV 26764 or drop off donations to Clear Mountain Bank for the Terra Alta Youth Football League account.
