Harold Park Obituary

Harold Milton Park, 88, of Oakland, MD, passed away peacefully in Markleysburg, PA, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Harold was born on April 12, 1938, in Oakland, MD, a son of the late Encil Milton Park and Margaret Ella (Sell) Park.

Harold lived a full and hardworking life, built around family, service, and the outdoors. In his younger years, before having his sons, he enjoyed drag racing and earned many trophies, which he proudly kept as reminders of those exciting days. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for several years as a member of the “Hell on Wheels” Tank Division, a role he took great pride in.

A skilled mason, Harold worked in the masonry trade and owned his own masonry business for more than 40 years. His work reflected the same qualities he carried throughout his life: dedication, strength, and a willingness to work hard. He was also a true outdoorsman who felt most at home outside. Harold loved hunting deer, turkey, and squirrel, trapping, fishing, camping, farming, and gardening.

Harold was a believer in God and prayed faithfully throughout his life. His faith was a steady part of who he was and helped guide the way he lived. He was also a reliable and caring friend. No matter where his friends were, Harold made it a point to call and check in on them, making sure they knew they were remembered and cared for.

More than anything, Harold loved his family. Whether working, farming, telling stories, or simply spending time together, he treasured the moments he shared with those he loved most. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his devotion to his family, and the many memories he leaves behind.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Janet Lois (Poland) Park; two sons, Kenneth Park and his wife, Stephanie, and Joel Park and his wife, Tracy; one sister, Phyllis Redmond; one brother, Bob Park and his wife, Anna; two sisters-in-law, Sue Parks and Sandy Park; four grandchildren, Austin King, Jordan Roach and her husband, Brayden, Jacob Park, and Kaitlyn Park; and one precious great-granddaughter, Wrenley Grace Roach.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Keefer, Jane Cosner, Bill Parks, and Edward Park.

In keeping with his wishes, Harold will be cremated.  Online condolences may be sent to the Park family at www.kingwoodfuneralhomewv.com.  Kingwood Funeral Home is honored to serve the Park family.
