Howard Taylor Obituary

Howard Earl Taylor,  80 of Kingwood, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Kingwood Healthcare Center. He was born at Indian Rocks, Preston County, June 7, 1944, a son of the late Henry Earl Taylor and Rosa Mae (Louk) Taylor. His wife, Mildred (Howell) Taylor preceded him in death.

Surviving are: four siblings, Harriet Louk, of Indian Rocks, Patty Blosser, of Kanes Creek, Margaret Taylor, of Arthurdale, and Roy W. Taylor and finance’  Jeannie Louk, Kingwood; one special nephew, Kenneth Taylor and wife Hope; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by: three sisters, Sylvia June Taylor, Wanda Lou Taylor and Martha Marie Taylor, both in infancy; and one brother Jerry Lee Taylor. 

Howard was a farmer and had worked on various farms throughout Preston county, he also worked as a coal miner. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, foraging for mushrooms, ginseng, and ramps. He loved a good mess of potatoes and ramps.

Cremation services will be accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home and Cremation, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the funeral care fund, at the bottom of this webpage, to help with funeral costs.
