James Eric Thomas

James “Jim” Eric Thomas, age 60, of Kingwood, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Baltimore, MD, March 10, 1964, a son of the late James Issac Thomas and Frances (Meade) Thomas. His wife Cheryl Ray (Williams) Thomas survives.

Jim was a self employed carpenter, he made many wooden crosses that were put in prayer blankets for many years, and also wooden necklaces that were sent to other states and overseas. He was a member of the Otterbein Methodist Church of Kingwood, a lifetime member of the VFW #578 of Terra Alta, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2391 of Kingwood. Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his good friends Steve and Sue Duttera, of Berkley Springs, WV.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: two sons, James Thomas, Jr. and Rebekah, and Justin Thomas; one daughter, Hannah Thomas; five grandchildren, Kyira, Cullen, Charlotte, Lincoln, and Carson; and one sister Franny Thomas and companion Bill Wagner.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2 pm, with Pastor Mike Lantz officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
