Janet Marie Chambers

Janet Marie Chambers, 82, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Morgantown, WV.  Born on May 14, 1942, in Weirton, WV, Janet was the daughter of the late William Franklin Chambers and Valla Elma (Nestor) Chambers.

Janet is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Samuel Joseph Chambers of Akron, OH; JoAnn Carol Stieringer of Morgantown, WV; Patricia Gail Morgan of Laurel, DE; and Daniel Ray Chambers of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Tammy Friend of Tunnelton, who held a very special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by six siblings: William Paul Chambers, Robert Reed Chambers, Franklin Chambers Jr., James Edward Chambers, Virginia Lee Chambers, and Richard David Chambers.

Janet had a zest for life and a heart full of love. She was very generous and loved to give gifts to others She enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, going on shopping trips—especially to Walmart—and had a soft spot for her beloved cats. She found joy in gospel music and was a faithful member of Mt. View United Methodist Church, where her spirit of devotion and kindness was always present.

Family and friends may gather to honor Janet’s life at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 16, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with services being officiated by Pastor Eddie Martin. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
