Janice Sue (White) Crane, 85, of Kingwood, WV, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 4th, 2023. She was born January 12th, 1938 in Morgantown a daughter of the late Eugene and Vesta (Ellinger) White.
Janice was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and sang in their choir, she was the organist there every Sunday for over 65 years and played for most local weddings and funerals during that time period, also for the Buckwheat Festival Coronations, Pageants, and Royalty Banquets.
In college while earning multiple degrees, she was president of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and appointed to the Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Honorary Women's Fraternity. Janice was employed in the Preston county school system for 39 years, starting at Cascade Elementary. She was a member the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; a past general chairman of the Preston County Buckwheat Festival; Kingwood Citizen of the Year; The Red Hats; and the Buckwheat Stompers Square Dance Club.
Janice enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family. Janice was the picture of class, elegance, and grace.
She is survived by: her daughter and spouse, Janie and Mike Spahr, of Kingwood; two granddaughters: Ashlyn Spahr of Kingwood and Darcy Jennings and spouse Cory of Thornton; two great-grandchildren: Casen and Huntlea Jennings.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, James Nelson “Jim” Crane on February 10th this year and two brothers: Jack and Joe White.
Friends may call on Tuesday, October 10th at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street from 4 – 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at Noon on Thursday, October 26th, 2023 in the Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathon Nettles officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood, WV.
