Jeremiah Jo "Jeremy" Goines

Jeremiah Jo “Jeremy” Goines, age 50, of Albright, WV, passed away suddenly, Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Russell Goines, Jr. and Paula (Shrout) Goines Kelly, who survives. His wife, Johnna (Adams) Goines also survives, they were united in marriage in 2009.

Jeremy was a 1993 graduate of Preston High School, he attended Salem University and Fairmont State College. He played football and baseball at Preston High and remained a fan throughout his life. He threw out the first football on the field when the new Preston High School was built, and considered that a great honor. He was the owner and operator of Goines Bar-b-que and Catering. He was a Christian by faith.

In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by:  eight children, Paige Morris and husband Brian, of Winchester, VA, Ally Goines, of Martinsburg, WV, Quentin Goines, of Texas, Myah Goines, of CA, Ashton Goines, Winchester, VA, Jaden Goines, of Kansas City, MO, Layla Goines, of Fairmont, WV, and Jeremiah Goines, of Tunnelton, WV; four grandchildren, A’Mare Floyd, Isaiah Williams, Kingston Williams, and Megan Williams; three brothers, Jason Goines, of Reedsville, WV, Jesse Goines and wife Kris, Terra Alta, and John and wife Ashley, of Saxton, PA.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marietta and Russell Goines, Sr., and his maternal grandparents, Roberta and Bill Shrout.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S, Price Street, Kingwood, WV on Friday, February 7th from 12 noon until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 4pm at the funeral home. Pastor C. Jonathan Anderson officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date.
