Jerry Russell Friend Jr.

Jerry Russell Friend Jr., 56, of Albright, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at his home in Albright. Jerry was born on March 30, 1968, in Kingwood, son of Jerry Russell Friend Sr., of Terra Alta, and the late Carolyn Glendine (Sypolt) Friend.

Jerry was a paramedic with Mon EMS and a 911 dispatch operator with MedCom. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. Jerry flew planes and also loved to go parachuting. He was baptized at the Birds Creek Church.

Jerry is survived by his father and spouse Joyce; one son, Maliek Friend, of Albright: two daughters, Jennifer McIe (Michael), of Albright, Jamie Lynn Friend, of Albright; seven grandchildren, Michaela, Kaytie, Joshua, Raelynn, Colton, McKenna, Jupiter; one brother, Ralph Friend; three sisters, Sherry Wheeler, of Albright, Joanna Fox, of Albright, Angela Knotts, of Kingwood: and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother; one nephew, Thumper Friend; and one niece, Chasity Knotts.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Maplewood Cemetery, with Reverend Joe Lamm officiating.
