Jerry "Mike" Michael Wolfe

Jerry Michael “Mike” Wolfe, age 74, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Preston Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born in Preston County, WV, June 28, 1950, a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Wolfe and Mary Isabella (Brailer) Wolfe.

Mike was a 1968 graduate of Fellowsville High School. He graduated from Fairmont State College and West Virginia University, where he earned three Masters degrees in Education and OSHA safety. He received an Honorary Stole in 2022 from Fairmont State University. He worked for the Preston County Board of Education where he taught at Bruceton High School and Preston High School before retiring with 37 years service. Mike had a deep passion for his farm, where he found fulfillment tending to the land and caring for his beloved animals. His days were filled with the joy of watching and caring his pets and farm animals.  To him, they were not just animals—they were companions and a source of constant happiness.  He also loved to plant a garden every year and gifted many friends and family fresh corn and tomatoes. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Grafton.

Surviving are: his former wife, Sharon (Wright) Wolfe; two daughters, Gerri Medley and husband Russell, of Morgantown, WV, and Marie Kidder and husband Greg, of Bruceton Mills, WV; two grandchildren, Cole Kidder, of Bruceton Mills, WV, and Grace Wolfe, of Independence, WV; one cousin who was like a sister to him, Jeannie Beveridge, of Newburg, WV; and his two beloved dogs, Hoochie and Snoopy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Allen Wolfe.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Sunday, January 19 th  from 3 – 6 pm. A liturgy outside of mass will be conducted at the funeral home Monday, January 20 th at 11 am, with Father Walt Jagela officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Kingwood.
