John Webster Jones

John Webster Jones, age 88, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away July 30, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Rowlesburg, December 2, 1934, a son of the late Henry W. and Modena C. (DeWitt) Jones. His wife of 66 years, Shirley Ann (Snider) Jones, survives.

John was retired, having worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 132 for over 30 years. He attended the Mt. Sarah Methodist Church and the Macomber Community Church.

Surviving are: two daughters, Cynthia A. Jones and Bruce, of Good Hope, WV, and Susan E. Davis and Larry, of Rowlesburg; four grandchildren, Amber DeBerry and husband Jody, Justin Darlington, Jared Shay and wife Nicole, and Joshua Davis; seven great grandchildren, Abby DeBerry, Zoey DeBerry, Montana Darlington, Elaina Darlington, Raylynn Bulford, Paxton Shay, and Chad Shay; three brothers Roy H. Jones, Lawrence H. Jones and wife Mary, and Allen D. Jones, all of Rowlesburg; three sisters, Gloria M. Jackson, TN, Dora Snyder, Lima, OH, and Hilda Sypolt and husband Glenn, of Vermillon, OH.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: one sister, Flora Wolfe; and one brother-in-law, Dean Jackson; and one sister-in-law, Dotty Jones.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Thursday, August 3rd from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, at the funeral home Friday, August 3th. with Rev. Justin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sinclair Cemetery, Rowlesburg, WV.
