John "Mitch" Karl Mitchell

John “Mitch” Karl Mitchell, II, 66, of Kingwood, WV, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Mitch was born on December 13, 1954, in Maryland and was a son of the late John Karl Mitchell, I and Josephine (Morgan) Mitchell.

He served in the US Navy from 1973-1977. He had worked as a laborer at the Albright Power Plant. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing. Mitch is survived by his fiancée, Martha Marshall of Kingwood; three sons, Jonathan Mitchell and wife Jane of Australia, Chris Marshall and wife Susie of Allentown, PA, and Brad Marshall and wife, Shirl of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Jennifer Mitchell of Florida; one uncle, Andy Lipscomb that he called Dad of Terra Alta, seven grandchildren; three beloved cats, Lady, Molly and Jack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jay Mitchell; one sister, Andrea Lockwood; one aunt, Betty Lipscomb.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV at 1:00 p.m. where military honors will be accorded by the Taylor County Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel.
