Junior "Peewee" Darrell Cole, Sr.

Junior Darrell "Peewee"  Cole, Sr., 88, of Woodstock, VA, formerly of Terra Alta, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 9, 2025. Born on August 11, 1936, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Cole and Pearl (Powell) Cole.

Junior is survived by his children, Junior Darrell Cole II of Statesville, NC, John Warren Cole of Martinsburg, WV, Carolyn Sue Whittington of Edinburg, VA, and Katherine June Riley and her husband, Robert III, of Maurertown, VA; his sister, June Chedester of South Carolina; his brother, Woodrow "Woody" Cole of Arthurdale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his cherished pet cockatiel, Buzzy.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Mae (Fitchett) Cole; his son, William Huffman; and his brothers, Pete Cole and Grover Cole.

Junior spent his career as the head custodian for Loudoun County Public Schools, a position he held with pride and dedication. He found joy in simple pleasures — watching old westerns, staying updated with the news, and soaking up the sun outdoors. Junior was also an animal lover who cherished the five dogs that brought warmth and laughter to his family.

Junior will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends may call at Terra Alta Funeral Home, 1112 W. State Avenue, Terra Alta, WV, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Reverend David Spence, with interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
