Kenneth “Dean” Johnson, age 63, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away Monday, November 25,2024, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born in Kingwood, WV, June 6, 1961, a son of the late Bobby Lee Johnson and Nancy Rebecca (Childers) Johnson. He is survived by his life partner, Shirley Anthony.
Dean worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed going on “adventures”, camping at Smoke Hole, and mostly spending time with his family.
Surviving are: five children, Bradley Johnson and Yvonne, of Albright, Misty Dean and Greg, of Houston, TX, Nicole “Nicki” Knotts and Virgil, of Kingwood, Brandon Johnson, of Georgia, and Zackuary Johnson, of TX; six grandchildren, Isabelle Rene Johnson, Nicole, Austin, Haylei, and Colton, and Trinity Knotts; seven great grandchildren, Lawson, Issiah, Xavier, Bella, Landen, Adrian, and Laurence; and Tatum who is due to arrive in March; seven brothers, Gerald, Louis, David, Thomas, Tony, Perry and Larry Johnson; and many nieces and nephews, and his dog Buddy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Phillip Johnson.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, Friday, November 29th from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, at 12 noon. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 322 E. Main Street, Kingwood, WV. Father Dominic Athishu as celebrant. At Dean’s request cremation services will be accorded and inurnment will be at Childers Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
