Margaret C. Bailey, 93, of Kingwood, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born September 19, 1929 in Howesville, a daughter of the late Joseph James and Victoria Teresa (Rickelman) Brailer. Her husband, Robert Junior Bailey, preceded her in death, March 29, 1993.
Mrs. Bailey was a 1946 graduate of Kingwood High School, and attended Fairmont State College. She was a member St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church where she was active with the Alter Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Service Personnel Association, and the Retired Service Personnel Association. She worked as a special education aide for the Preston County Board of Education and Head Start. She enjoyed sewing, furniture upholstering, reading, doing word searches and watching the hummingbirds.
Surviving are: two sons Robert A. Bailey and wife Shirley, Albright, and Brian E. Bailey, Kingwood; two daughters, Jennifer Bailey Bates and husband John, Bruceton Mills, and Cheryl Bailey Everly, Masontown; six grandchildren, Jennifer Davis and Brian, Karen DeLancey and Michael, James Bailey and Pam, Suzanne Forman and James, James Everly, and Holly Everly; seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily and Dakota, Brant, Lilly, Katie, Emma, and Carson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one grandson, Robert A. Bailey, Jr.; one son in law, James Everly; three brothers, John Brailer, Paul Brailer, Ambrose Brailer; and three sisters, Elizabeth Barlow, Isabella Wolfe, and Lucy Motsay.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 3 – 7 pm, with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 12 Church Drive, Kingwood, WV at 11:00 am, with Father Dominic Athishu as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
