Mary Lynn (Layton) Howell

Mary Lynn (Layton) Howell, 61, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Fairmont, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 15, 1962 in Kingwood, WV, a daughter of the late Walter Waldo Layton and Charlotte Marie (McMurdo) Layton. Her husband of 43 years, Thomas “Tom” Howell Sr., survives.

Mary was a graduate of Central Preston High School and worked as a sales clerk at Shop N Save in Kingwood. She enjoyed camping, gardening, farming, canning and crocheting. Most of all, Mary loved being a grandma. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary is also survived by her two sons, Thomas Franklin Howell Jr. (Kayla), of Rome, NY, Jason Lee Howell (Jessica), of Fairmont, WV; three grandchildren, Audrey Howell, Hunter Wilfong, Julianna Howell; one brother, Mark “Duke” Layton (Lisa), of Tunnelton, WV; and one sister, Linda Molisee (Butch), Wayne, MI.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Layton and George “Mike” Layton; and one sister, Marsha Layton.

At her request, cremation services accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home and Cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 6, 2024 at the Robinson Campground in Hannahsville, WV.
