Maxine Wilhelm, age 91, of Kingwood passed away, Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Stonerise of Kingwood. She was born in Kingwood, June 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Foster Floyd and Edna Ruth (Childs) Wilhelm.
Maxine was a member of the Kingwood Free Methodist Church, and previously the Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was a nursery and primary Sunday school teacher for many years. She was retired with 37 years of service having worked as a secretary at Kingwood Wholesale. She volunteered more than 4000 hours at Preston Memorial Hospital and received an award and congratulatory letter from President Bush.
She is survived by one sister, Christine O. Matthews, of Hazelton, WV, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Wallace Wilhelm, Charles Wilhelm, and Foster Wilhelm, Jr.; and two sisters, Virginia Wilhelm and Lorraine Lewis.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, on Thursday from 11 AM until the funeral hour at 1 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the funeral home, with the Reverend Michael Lantz officiating. Private interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.
