Mitchell Gene Stickler, 87, of Bruceton Mills, WV died Monday, July 11, 2022 at his home.
He was born September 19, 1934 in Fairmont and was the son of the late Elmer Daniel and Ruby Lee (Ball) Sticker.
Mitchell worked for Bell Lab, Virtual Time Sharing, and Penamation. After his retirement he did consulting for Marriott for their computer systems. He was a 1952 graduate of Barrackville High School. He received his electrical engineering degree from West Virginia University and his master’s electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1957. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Terra Alta. He was recognized in Who’s Who in the World, American Men and Women of Science.
Mitchell is survived by his wife, Janet Elaine (Mankins) Sticker; five sons, Mitchell C. Stickler of DE, Matthew G. Stickler of Or, Mark G. Stickler of PA, Patrick B. Stickler of WA and Jason Stickler of WV; two brothers, Daniel L. Stickler and Richard E. Stickler both of FL; six grandchildren, Michelle, Claire, Andrew, Vera, Dillion and Daniel.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Kingwood on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Charles McGinnis as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Howesville.
