Myrtle Virginia (Gamble) Calvert, 102, of Kingwood, West Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
She was born on June 16, 1920 at Gamble Hollow, Masontown, WV, a daughter of the late Russell Gamble and Minnie May (Neff) Gamble.
Myrtle was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and attended the Kingwood Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed traveling around the world, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Myrtle is survived by her sister, Dolly Cale of Reedsville; six grandchildren and spouses, Gavin Calvert of Newburg, Tim and Sandra Calvert of Kingwood, Franklin Cole of Reedsville, Terri and Steve Ruggles of Kingwood, Jeff Cole of Kingwood, and Dena Hall of Newburg; six great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two daughters in law, Linda Calvert, of Newburg, and Patty Calvert, of Kingwood; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Watson Calvert; three sons, Darwin Calvert, Russell Calvert, and Donald Calvert; two daughters, Charlene Joy Calvert and Doris Cole; five brothers, Calvin Gamble, Cecil Gamble, Dallas Gamble, William Gamble and Wayne Gamble; eight sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Stella Sanchez, Frances Cale, Opal Cale, Jeanette Stull, Murle Ennis, Jean Stull, and Maxine Hawley;
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Myrtle during visitation at the Kingwood Funeral Home, located at 295 S. Price Street on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 12 – 2 pm the time of the service with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Herring Road.
