Naomi Jean Shahan, 91, of Tunnelton, WV, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at her home.
Naomi was born June 4, 1929, in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late Edward and Daisy (Riley) Wiles.
She was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and Methodist by faith. Naomi owned and operated Shahan Grocery with her husband for over 30 years. She was a member of the Colonel Rowan Post 2345 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John E. Shahan Sr.; one son, Danny Shahan of Tunnelton; one daughter and spouse, Judy and Fred Judy of Dundee, OH; one daughter-in-law, Crystal Shahan of Salem, WV; one brother and spouse, Jerry and Betty Wiles of Amherst, OH; one sister, Rosemarie Eckenrode, of Warren, OH; two grandchildren, Jason Baylor and Brian Shahan; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Baylor, Shalyn Baylor, Sarah Baylor, Brian Shahan and Olivia Williamson; two great-great-grandchildren, Raven and Willow Williamson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John E. Shahan, Jr.; five brothers, Darrell Riley, Kenneth Wiles, Joe Wiles, Jimmy Wiles, Larry Wiles, Sr.; three sisters, Elaine Martin, Louise Gordon and Betty Wiles.
Friends and family will be received at Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel; 295 South Price Street, on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 4-8pm; on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Biggins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery, Tunnelton.
