Nita Elma (White) Bishop

Nita Elma (White) Bishop, age 79, of Kingwood, WV, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Morgantown surrounded by her family. She was born in Kingwood, September 29, 1945, a daughter of the late George E. “Bus” White and Elma E. (Smith) White.  Her husband of more than 40 years, Rodney Carl Bishop, preceded her in death.

Nita was a graduate of Kingwood High School. She retired from the Preston County Board of Education where she was the executive secretary for 35 years. Her greatest joy was being “Grammy” to her grandchildren and great grandchild.

Surviving are: two daughters, Dawn Yeager (Frank) of Export, PA, and Stacia Wilson (Joe), of Kingwood; six grandchildren, Kaedyn Wilson and fiance’ Chris Yost, Alauna Wilson, Dayton Wilson, Moriah Wilson, Leland Wilson and Merlin Yeager; one great grandchild, Oakley Wade Yost.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Friday, November 22nd from 1-7 pm, and Saturday, November 23rd from 10am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, at the funeral home with Reverend David Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In keeping with Nita's generosity to anyone in need, her family requests that donations be made in her name to the charity of your choice. Nita would love to be a part of such good going out into the world.
