Orpha Rogers Loughry

Orpha Rogers Loughry, 90, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away peacefully in Elkins, WV, on Monday, February 23, 2026.  Orpha was born on September 8, 1935, in Rowlesburg, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey C. Rogers and Effie (Shaffer) Rogers.

She worked as a bank teller at People’s National Bank in Rowlesburg, WV, where she built a lifelong career. Orpha was a devoted member of Macomber Community Church. She enjoyed visiting Cool Springs, where she always had a wonderful time and made many friends who treated her like family. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Orpha is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Roger) Wolfe; four grandchildren, Meagan Loughry, Jacob Loughry, Dennis “D.J.” Wolfe, and Dylan Wolfe; one sister-in-law, Patricia Loughry Goff and her husband, Bill; a special niece, Margie Dixon; two close cousins, Don Rogers and Patty Mick; her bonus grandson, Aidan Cassidy; beloved partner of her late son, Susan Nieman Daetwyler; and several treasured nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Orpha was preceded in death by her husband, James Loughry; her son, Thomas A. Loughry; six siblings, Wesley Rogers, Elmer Rogers, Calvin Lee Rogers, Lula Six, Violet Britner, and Tina Bryan; and one sister-in-law, Nancy (Doyle) Loughry West.

Friends may attend visitation for Orpha on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place privately at a later date.
