Patricia JoAnn Freeland

Patricia JoAnn (Lipscomb) Freeland, age 66, of New Bern, NC, formerly of Kingwood, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in New Bern, NC. She was born February 12, 1957, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late George Elias Lipscomb and Mary Elizabeth (Simmons) Lipscomb.

Patricia was a CNA, she was formerly employed at Hopemont Hospital for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, flower gardening, working crossword puzzles, watching TV, especially Christmas movies, crocheting, and reading romance novels.

Surviving are: one daughter, Stephanie Hillery, of New Bern, NC; two grandchildren, Ethan Hillery and wife Paige, of Fairmont, WV, and Jacob Hillery, of New Bern, NC; one brother, Donnie Lipscomb, of Terra Alta, WV; one sister, Kathy Lewis, Terra Alta, WV; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Lipscomb, of Terra Alta.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: one son-in-law, Kevin Hillery; one brother, George Lipscomb; and one nephew, Andrew Lipscomb.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Sunday from 1-3 PM.  Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM, at the funeral home, with Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. In following her wishes cremation services will be completed.
