Peggy Ann (Hayes) Bowlby

Peggy Ann (Hayes) Bowlby, 87, of Tunnelton, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Rosewood Center in Grafton. She was born on October 21, 1937 in Albright, daughter of the late Clarence and Mona May (Duggers) Hayes.

Peggy was a caretaker for senior citizens for many years. She had a deep knowledge for nature and loved to watch animals in the wild. Peggy enjoyed talking to others. She will be greatly missed.

Peggy is survived by her son, William Shaver; two step daughters, Pamela Hayes, Donna Higgs; two sisters, Barbara Ringsletter, Jane Teach; one brother, Russell (Pam) Hayes; several nieces and nephews; family friend and caretaker, Edgar Amos Jr.; and her beloved dog, Taz.

In addition to her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Bowlby; five brothers, Wayman Hayes, Franklin Hayes, Clarence Hayes, Alvie Hayes, David Hayes; and two sisters, Beatrice Criss, Susan Alban.

Cremation services will be accorded by Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV. A private inurnment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery.
