Reva Jean (Roy) Martin, 72, of Terra Alta, WV, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at her home with her loving husband by her side. She was born on August 1, 1953, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Reland “Bert” Adair Roy and Opal Glendine (Reckart) Roy.
Reva was a 1971 graduate of Southern High School and had worked in the 1970s at the Sewing Factory in Deer Park, MD. She dedicated twenty-five years in various positions for Terra Alta Bank and another thirteen years as a receptionist for Oakland Nursing and Rehab, where she retired in April of 2022.
Reva is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Dennis “Denny” Elmer Martin; two daughters, Sarah Martin, of Terra Alta, Laura Martin and Marty Satariano, of Pittsburgh, PA; three sisters, Deborah Zimmerman and husband Butch, of Oakland, MD, Donna Watt and husband Art, of Dunn, NC, Teresa Gilbert and husband Paul, of Frederick, MD; sisters in law, Barbara Martin, of Duffield, VA, Phyllis Hoffman and husband Bruce, of Shinnston, WV, brother in law, Melvin Martin, of Shinnston, WV, nieces and nephews, Rob and April Zimmerman, Matt and Jessie Zimmerman, Rachel Zimmerman, all of Oakland, MD, Tonya Watt, of NC, Aaron Watt and Whitney, of Atlanta, GA, Adam and Megan Watt, of Milton, FL, Daniel and Destiney Watt, of NC, Maria and Ben Page, of TX, Brad Ridder, Krista Ridder, Greg and Tisha Hoffman, of Hinesville, GA, Mark and Dennise Hoffman, of Hastings, FL, Bryan and Melissa Martin, of South Lebanon, OH, Tami and Dee Phoulom, of Pomona Park, FL, Paula and Be Thorn, of Morgantown, Philip and Angie Martin, Melanie and Victor Anton, Nathan Martin, Carol and Rob Talkington and Missy Hoffman, all of Shinnston, WV; numerous great nieces and nephews; and four grand fur babies.
Reva was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother in law, Charles and Blanche Martin; brothers in law, Leslie Martin, Harold Martin; sisters in law, Suzanne Martin, Judy Martin, Sandy Martin; and several aunts and uncles.
Family and friends will be received at the Terra Alta Funeral Home, 1112 W. State Ave., Terra Alta, WV, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 11am until the 1pm funeral hour, with Pastor Stanley Waybright officiating. Interment will follow at Terra Alta Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Stanley Waybright and “Sister in Christ” Linda Shillingburg. Reva loved her church family at the White Dale Brethren Church in Terra Alta. Also, thanks to everyone who came to visit her in the hospital and nursing home, especially her cousins, Katie Sines and Mamie Reckart. You all helped to raise her spirits and relive old memories. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who took care of her over the last few years at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Ruby, Mon General, Select Specialty Hospitals, Oakland Nursing and Rehab, Amedisys Hospice, and Annie Ringer.
