Robert Earl Shaffer

Robert Earl Shaffer, 83, of Rowlesburg, WV, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Community Care of Kingwood. He was born on December 1, 1940 in Rowlesburg, WV, to the late Oscar Milton Shaffer and Thelma Irene (Goff) Shaffer.

Robert worked for the WV Department of Highways, the Town of Rowlesburg, and he also enjoyed doing small engine repairs, especially lawnmowers. He was a member of the Rowlesburg Volunteer Fire Department and a founding member of the Rowlesburg Volunteer Ambulance Service.

He is survived by one brother, Donald Lee Shaffer, of Rowlesburg, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack W. Shaffer and Richard A. Shaffer; and two sisters, Beth Friend and Marlyn “Sis” Bever.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 3-6pm, and Wednesday from 10am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating. Interment will follow at Aurora Cemetery.
