Robert Lester Shaffer, age 60, of Masontown, West Virginia, departed this life on Monday, March 27, 2023 at his home.
Born on June 19, 1962, in Morgantown, he was a son of the late William Eugene and Thelma Irene (Saffle) Shaffer. After graduating from Central Preston High School in 1980, he worked in construction and was a member of the Labor Local Union #379. He was also a member of the “Badd Habitt Band” singing vocals and playing lead guitar - he enjoyed many adventures with the group over the years. Robert also cherished his family and the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley (Stull) Shaffer; three sons: Robert Shaffer, Jr. and wife Denise of Bruceton Mills, Roy Shaffer and wife Cara of Arthurdale, and Matthew Shaffer of Masontown; one brother: Jerry Shaffer of Kingwood; five grandchildren: Lexie, Abby, Blake, Noah and Parker, and great-grandchildren: Sage and River, as well as his beloved dog, Omar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Jr., and a sister, Donna.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4 – 6 pm, and on Thursday, March 30 from 10:00 until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at Kingwood Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Spiker officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery (Pell Road).
