Robert Lee Summers

Robert Lee Summers, 76, of Albright, Lenox community, passed away, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at his residence, with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Albright, WV, July 11, 1947, a son of the late Ben Paul Summers and Shirley (Wilhelm) Summers. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet (Jordan) Summers. His current wife, Sharon (VanDyke) Summers survives.

Robert had worked many years in coal mining as a dragline excavator. He most recently worked for Green River Group but had also worked several years at Rockville Mining. He also enjoyed farming. He was member of the Wesley Chapel Church in Lenox.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: one brother, Jack (Terry) Summers, of Lenox; three sisters, Joyce (Robert) Nine, of Lenox, Pam (Eddie) Casteel, of Bruceton Mills, and Vickie Summers, of Lenox; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Bradley Summers; and two sisters in law, Patty and Kay Summers.

We would like to give special acknowledgement and thanks to all the Amedisys staff that took care of Robert during this difficult time. Your excellent care and heartfelt kindness will not be forgotten.

Per his wishes cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at Wesley Chapel Church, Lenox, WV, on November 11, 2023, at 11 am.
