Robin Denise (Pratt) Contic

Robin Denise (Pratt) Contic, 60, of Kingwood, WV, passed away peacefully December 3, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born May 14, 1963, in Amherst, OH, a daughter of Opal Irene (Johnson) Reckart and (stepfather) Melvin Dempsey Reckart, of Kingwood, and the late James Roy Pratt.

Robin was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and Nina. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren.

Robin was a 1981 graduate of Central Preston High School, a dedicated member of the Kingwood Church of Christ, and she owned and operated Contic Jewelry. Her love of babies and children inspired her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Fairmont State, for which she earned Magna Cum Laude honors. She was a Special Education teacher at Preston High School; and Robin earned a Master’s Degree at WVU in Special Education, in 2016.

In addition to her mother, Robin is survived by her loving husband; Joe Contic, two sons; Joshua Bryan Montgomery (Kailee Firestone), of Morgantown, Bronson Reece Contic (Patty Jo), of Cheat Lake, a daughter; Allison Danielle van Ryck de Groot (Jason), of Middletown, VA, four grandchildren; Aubrey Rose Montgomery, Bryson Kinley, Grayson Barrowclough, Desdemona “Demi” DeGroot, one brother; Mark Pratt (Charlotte), of Morgantown, one sister; Miranda Bashaw (Adam), of New Orleans, LA, two nephews; Nathanial Pratt and Jackson Bashaw.

Family will receive friends at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 4pm-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Kingwood Funeral Home at 11am with Minister Duane Salisbury officiating.
